Friendship Group
The Friendship Group meets in the Church Hall every Monday morning between 10 and 12. All are made welcome, and on average we have somewhere between 10 and 20 individuals per week, for all or part of the time. We provide tea, coffee and toast when people arrive, till about 10.45 a.m., and a meal from 11 o'clock onwards.
Our aim is to provide a much-needed haven where people can meet and discuss their problems with people who care about their needs. We play Christian music and have a display case with Christian leaflets on, which people can read or take away with them.
We have a great team of volunteers, some helping in the kitchen and some making people welcome and chatting to them in the hall. The line between helpers and "droppers in" is often blurred, which is perhaps appropriate for a Friendship Group.
